Founded in 2011 by fashion designer Lindsey James, Violet Flamingo is a sustainable fashion and textiles studio.

Over the years, Violet Flamingo has evolved from a made-to-order fashion label into a creative business centred around custom garments, alterations, repairs, upcycling and textile education. Sustainability remains at the heart of everything VF does, with a focus on helping people extend the life of their clothing and make more conscious choices about what they wear.

Violet Flamingo also delivers sewing, upcycling and creative textile workshops for schools, community groups and adults looking to learn new skills. Through these projects, Lindsey is passionate about sharing knowledge, building confidence and helping keep traditional textile skills alive for future generations.

With a background in fashion design, manufacturing and pattern cutting, Lindsey understands how clothing should fit real bodies. Every project is approached with creativity, craftsmanship and a commitment to making fashion more sustainable, accessible and individual.
