Ebor Studio Group Programme Assistant
Ebor Studio
Ebor Studio is a professional artist-lead organisation in Littleborough in the Pennine area of Rochdale. We are a community of 30 creatives based in a small former textiles mill comprising 14 resident artists with working studios and 16 associate members. Our mission is to support our artists’ careers by providing shared resources, opportunities for exhibition, commission and networking. We run an Arts Council England funded annual programme of public facing events based at the studio in our designated gallery FRANK. We host approximately 6 exhibitions or equivalent per year with enrichment events around these such as artist talks or workshops. We also have an external billboard programme which is populated by our artists. This new role is to help liaise with artists in support of the management of the programme.
Job Description
We have created a new role within the Ebor Studio management team to assist with the delivery of the Ebor Studio programme of events working alongside the Programme Manager, the Director, and the Social Media Manager. The Programme Assistant’s main area of responsibility will be to oversee the successful delivery of events and to co-ordinate aspects of exhibition and display.
This is a part time, freelance role equivalent to 8 hours a week and will require flexible working: you will either be working alongside colleagues during our regular office hours on preparatory administrative tasks or attending timetabled events in a supervisory role.
A key part of this role will be to liaise with participating artists, assisting them with planning and practical aspects of installation or delivery. You will collate associated promotional and interpretive material, organise printing and textual displays for each exhibition/event.
Participating artists are required to curate and install their own work, however, you will support them and advise on our hanging procedures and protocols, including health and safety. You will be familiar with our available technical and practical resources and will report any resource and maintenance issues to the team.
Part of the role will be to photograph events for use across our platforms. You will be responsible for the organisation of our events - previews, launch events, workshops and talks - including volunteer co-ordination for events from within our membership.
This is a self employed fixed-term contract until November 2026. The Programme Assistant will have a strong link to Rochdale and will have their own laptop. We are an inclusive space that celebrates diversity and welcome applications from all communities and backgrounds within the borough of Rochdale.
The successful candidate will familiarise themselves with our value statement, EDI and other policy documents
