bigSMALL
I initially proposed an exhibition that would be based on the liminal space between the seen and the unseen in nature and our human world. Since then, I have experienced a certain loss that has meant that an unseen, invisible situation has significantly changed my life, my body, my experienced world and how I behave in it.
I hope that from now, until the opening of this exhibition, I can create visual and physical stories of relentless resilience on intimate scales. My work has always been concerned with finding studying live or dead creatures, objects and natural matter with the same strength no matter how small a creature, fragile a material or retired an object.
bigSMALL will show a collection of art works which demonstrate stubbornness to survive. Everything will be fragile or demand more space than it takes up in mass. They will honour the spider in the gail, the pigeon in the storm, and the human in the heartbreak.
